In general, a semi-transparent stain should last 2 to 5 years. A solid color stain should last 8 years. A properly prepped and painted exterior should last 10 or more years. However, other factors like sun exposure or dampness can shorten the time. It's far cheaper to keep the wood painted or sealed than to replace it repair moisture damage. How long will it take for my house to be painted?
Completion time depends on the size of the project, the amount of preparation required and the weather. A small area, or something like refinishing and re-sealing a deck when the weather is perfect, might take just a few days. Painting the entire exterior of a house might take two or three weeks. What if I damage the paint after the job is done?
We always leave the leftover paint with you for touch-ups in case the paint gets scuffed or damaged. You won't need to make a perfect color match because you'll have the exact same paint we used.
